ANTIQUE AUCTION CONDITIONS OF SALE.

1. BUYERS PREMIUM 16% plus VAT

2. It is ESSENTIAL that entries for the sale be received, in writing, by our Auction Department at least 21 days before the Auction date.

3. Lots for inclusion in the sale to be delivered to the Sale Room on the day preceding the sale from 8.30a.m.

4. VIEWING OF LOTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED AFTER 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE ADVERTISED COMMENCEMENT TIME OF THE AUCTION.

5. Lots purchased, or not sold, on the day of sale MUST BE REMOVED from the Auction Room by the appropriate auctioneers parties on the day of sale. If however, neither Purchasers nor Vendors can do this, with prior arrangement, they will remove all items to their offices for collection; in doing so they take no responsibility for the goods.

6. COLLECTION of goods entered in the Auction will be arranged at the Vendors expense.

7. Payment for Lots purchased to be made on day of sale.

8. The highest bidder for any Lot shall be the Purchaser, and if any dispute arises between the two or more bidders, the Lot may be put up again at the highest undisputed bidding and resold, or the Auctioneer may determine the dispute at his discretion and his decision shall be final and decisive.

9. The Vendor shall be entitled to place a reserve on any Lot, and the Auctioneer shall have the right to bid on behalf of the Vendor for any Lot on which a reserve has been placed.

10. Vendors attending the sale are NOT permitted to bid on their own goods. Any Vendor so doing will be deemed to the Purchaser and will be charged the full commission.

11. Carter's Auctioneers reserve the right to withdraw, divide or amalgamate Lots.

12. Each Lot is sold by the Vendor thereof with the faults and defects therein and with all errors and is to be taken and paid for whether genuine and authentic or not and no compensation shall be paid for the same.

13. Neither the Vendor of any Lot nor the Auctioneers make or give nor have any persons in the employment of the Auctioneers, any authority to make or give any representation or warranty in relation to any Lot.

14. Intending Purchasers MUST satisfy themselves as to the physical description of any Lot and whether or not any Lot has been repaired or is defective.

15. NO Lot or Lots shall be removed from the Premises until paid for but each and every Lot shall immediately, at the fall of the hammer, be considered as delivered and be and remain in every respect at the absolute risk of the respective Purchaser or Purchasers thereof taken with all faults and errors of description. Vendors of any unsold Lots will be required to obtain passes from the Sales staff before removal of any unsold Lots.

16. In all cases of transfer the original Purchaser shall be held responsible for the purchase money.

17. Any Vendor with reserve on any items not sold will be responsible for these Lots at the fall of the Auctioneer’s hammer.

18. Purchasers MAY NOT remove any items from the tables, unless receipted account is produced.

19. Vendors MAY NOT remove unsold items from the tables, unless release slip is given.

20. ALL PERSONS WILL BE DEEMED TO HAVE READ THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED ON THIS PAGE.
